Attack Wing Event 7-27-2014 (A Little late)

Hello All,

The event was awesome! Eight people showed up  (Cap was ten so not too shabby for my first go.) There were some minor technical difficulties (I'm looking at you wizkids event site!)  but over all it went well.

The Next installment of the "Collective" is scheduled for August 17th so go and register!

My wife did OK coming in sixth of the eight but considering that she went into round three in last place that's pretty darn good!

Anyway here are some pictures from the event I hope they inspire people to come out and join us.

Well that's it for now. Comment if you have any questions.

Attack Wing event update

Special Note for Star Trek: Attack Wing Players and Participating Stores using the “The Collective” Tournament Bricks:
There has been some confusion regarding the following bullet point in the Tournament Instruction Sheets:
·  Players will receive 1 random Booster Pack and must add 30 SP from this Booster Pack (including the ship
and/or any Captain or Upgrade Cards) to their 90 SP Fleet Build bringing the Total Fleet Build to 120 SP.
Stores will determine requirements for participation in this month’s OP program. This may include purchase of
Attack Wing product or entry fees where local laws allow. Stores are encouraged to allow players to arrive 1
hour earlier to receive their random Booster Pack and revise their Fleet Builds

The intent of the suggested event directions is as follows:
·  each player arrives to the event with a pre-built 90 point fleet
·  each player receives one random The Collective Tournament Booster
·  each player uses the Ship, Captain and Upgrades from the Booster they received to make a single 30 point Ship using the content of the booster and adds it to their pre-built 90 point fleet (for a fleet total of up to 120 points) or can use 30 points from that booster and then reassign crew/upgrades from their pre-built 90 point fleet to the 30 point ship and vice versa (and even between ships within the 90 point fleet)— the exact format is at the store’s discretion.
·  For either option, players may not alter what constitutes the pre-built 90 point fleet after receiving their Booster
·  For the latter option, players may not alter what constitutes the pre-built 90 point fleet after receiving their Booster but can change where all the crew/equipment and upgrades are placed (i.e. swap captains, swap upgrades etc). 1 hour is likely too long to accomplish this and instead stores may wish to elect 15 minutes or whatever they deem appropriate.

The Collective Part 1 "First Contact"

While you are in a battle with your enemy, you suddenly find yourselves in a different sector of space. In front of you is a tremendous ship in the shape of a cube. Q, a member of the Q Continuum, has transported both of your fleets into Borg space to “give you a taste of your future, a preview of things to come.”
“The Borg are the ultimate user. They’re not interested in political conquest, wealth, or power as you know it. They’re simply interested in your ship and its technology. They’ve identified it as something they can consume.”
“The hall is rented; the orchestra engaged. It’s now time to see if you can dance…”

—Star Trek: The Next Generation Season 2: Episode 16 “Q Who”

Hello All,

Yours truly will be running the first of three exciting events for the up and coming game STAR TREK ATTACK WING! We will be playing at Comics and Games of Fairfax in Old Town Fairfax on Sunday July 27th starting at 1 PM (Sign up starts at noon.) I have looked over the scenario and it looks Bad A$$. First contact with the Borg based on the Next Generation Episode from second season (That's late 80's people) I never realized the Borg had been around so long.

Anyway- The price to get in is 20.00 and includes a Blind (Random) Ship that is used in the event and a new resource card and special die.

Space is limited to 10 players so stop by the store and ask to sign up or just let me know and I will add you to the list. Fees are paid on the day of the event.

Hobby Update

Hello All,

Just coming in with a brief Hobby update. There is not much going on as most of my time is split between moving and work. I am managing to get a few minor things done. For instance I modified these "Ape-X" from Reaper Bones line into Obliterators. I plan to paint them up to look like corrupted Jokaro.

I also finished this two headed Rat beast for my Son's Skaven army. It will make a fine Hellpit abomination.

I have also been cataloging my collection army by army. So far I have cataloged several thousand models but still have a long way to go. Here are some pictures from when I started.

Orcs and Goblins

Attack Wing

I have made progress in this game having played in a tournament last month (Came in 5th out of 6 players but at least I tried) I feel more comfortable with this game than I have in years. For giggles I put all of my ships together for a group shot. What do you think?

The collection has gotten a little bigger since then with the releases of several new kits in the last month or so. My favorite is the refitted Enterprise which introduced some new cool cards and may just be a "Game changer"!

Check out the Admiral card

The big card it the new Admiral card that can be added in addition to a captain and allows his special abilities to carry over to other ships in your fleet. It surprised me that this is model represents the refit Enterprise and not the Enterprise A (that looks the same for those not in the know) and it uses VGER (Star Trek the motion Picture) as its scenario. I did not see that one coming.

Here are some pictures of the new Ship with some older models for scale. (forgive the poor quality)

That's one hell of a refit

Next to Excelsior

The three different scale Enterprises I have (the one on the left is from a different manufacturer)

Well that's it for now-
