Hello all,
I finally finished the Aleph Infinity force I have been working since 2012. This has taken a long time to complete but I am done with it. I am not sure how I feel about the way they look. They are nice but I hit several brick walls while working on this project that I think kept me from finishing them in a more timely manor.
I don't care much for the Aleph models. Infinity has some of the coolest looking mini's on the market today but much of the Aleph line looks like the leftovers that did not make the cut with the first few factions. The poses look like just that, poses, stiff rather than the elegant flowing motion that is captured by so many of the other models. It takes away from the set as a whole. The bots on the other hand are pretty nifty and they were fun to do. (I guess that's why they were finished in 2012.)
The above is how I feel but the reality is that painting Infinity is a whole different animal than painting 40K or WHFB oe even Warmachine. The dirty line blurring that looks so good in the Grim dark of these setting looks sloppy when applied to an infinity model so different techniques need to be applied. In my case its like going back to basics and learning to paint again. I actually dipped one of the models 3 times before I got a result I could live with. I still have a long way to go.
I have 2 more factions to paint so "here's hoping"
Till next time
