It's Back!

Hello all,

Back in 2012 I started a project that ended up getting back burnered mostly due to my fear of screwing it up. A few months later I went back to it for a while but the test pieces convinced me that I needed more practice. Well a few years and a lot of models later I finally feel that I am ready to tackle

The Brass Scorpion!

Last week I decided to pull out the parts and DO This!

Here are a few early pics.

Base Brass for the armor plates

Brass for the Brass god!
I also added some silver and started the Hull Red pattern that defines the style as seen in imperial Masterclass Volume 2.

The front claws
More to come...

Journal 26- Wow. another one down. Reaver Titan DONE!

Hello all,

I cannot believe it but the Reaver is finally done! I don't have much to say except it was a labor of love. 25+ hours of prep (Sanding, Dremel, scraping, cutting) just to get it ready to prime. 50+ hours to paint (Air brush and brush.) I do not think I can remember working this hard on a single piece. GW was not kidding when they said a titan is like an army by itself they meant getting it table ready!

Well here is what you came here for:

The Parts

What the troops see

Front

In Action

What Fliers see

What sneaky Gits see

Details of the cover

Profile

For Scale- WH Giant 6' tall

1st attempt at this kind of effect!

Anyway That's it for today...

Journal #17

Apocalypse Formations- Space Wolves

Hello All,

I just got the new Apoc book and I am really enjoying it. The book itself is gorgeous and sized like regular books and not the over sized volumes of the last edition (good job GW.) The subtle changes in apoc formations allows me to field some for once...(In the last edition I always needed to buy more stuff if I wanted to use them and since these games are rare to begin with not really worth it.)

This morning I discovered that I really can field a Space wolf (SW) great company!

Points wise The SW company blows the regular chapter company away as there are no size restrictions for the SW units other than minimum number of units. This allows Grey hunter packs to be fielded in units of 5+ rather than 10 man squads.

Here is the bare bones break down- No Upgrades

APOC inbound!

Hello All,

The Apocalypse  announcement is just a few days away. I might even get a game in if the rules are actually playable out of the box. Well anyway a price list has made it's way onto the internet and it looks like it could be legit. WOW 160 (103 pounds) for the new super heavies! Not only that but my beloved baneblade is expected to jump to 140 dollars. for those keeping score that's around 91 pounds. check out forge world and you will see that there are several super heavy kits that are actually cheaper that the new Baneblade price... not to mention new ones.

Holy Crap.

I am so glad I stocked up on super heavies before now.
I am also glad that the new kits look so Meh...  and will finally be able to save money in July.

Till next time.
